In this passage, we come to the completion of the Tabernacle. At the beginning of this passage in verse 32, Moses gives a summary statement of all that had occurred now that all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed.
When anything that God takes part in, or commands his people to do, there is great blessings that follow. If God’s hands are on it, then his grace and favor will be present as well. We see this in the final verse of chapter 39 in verse 43, “And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them. God chose Israel as His own people irrespective of their obedience. God would be their inheritance no matter. But to gain the blessings, they had to live according to the way God set forth. This is the same pattern we see through the Bible and still applies for us today. All who believe are placed into God’s family as His child based solely on our faith in Jesus, however, in order to experience the blessings and the favor of God in this life, we have to walk in faith and in obedience to God and his ways. We are to see the experiences and actions of the people of Israel as an example for us to learn from and not make the same mistakes that they did. Throughout their journey in the desert and the building of the tent of meeting, God was with them and provided everything they needed. The choices they made in faith or lack of faith determined if they experienced the blessings or curses of God. In the same way, the choices we make will determine how rewarding our life will be as well. The lessons of Israel are a precious resource that can lead us to make choices that lead to the greatest reward and fulfillment for our lives. May we do according to all that the Lord commands us to do in this life. Prayer: Father God, thank you that you provide everything that we need to live in faith and in obedience to your will. Help us to trust you so that we can live a life of faith and obedience to what you would have for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
